The Wind Symphony is the only concert band on campus that requires an audition. Auditions take place during the first week of classes in the fall semester of each academic year. Music majors, your applied instructors will be in touch with you via e-mail to distribute audition information and excerpts. Non-music majors, if you would like to audition for the Wind Symphony, Please e-mail Dr. Neal in early August to receive the audition excerpts.
Students receive academic credit for bands participation. All performers must enroll in their specified course number. Students receive one hour of academic credit for each semester of participation. Most degree programs will accept band credit as a "free elective." We strongly encourage you to check with your department's academic advisers for details. First time Concert Band participants should register for the following course number:

Students may also study privately for academic credit. Applied study is available for all instruments through the Department of Music. Students must have professor approval to enroll in private lessons. For more information please contact the Department of Music at:
