Recording Procedures

There are two ways to have your recital recorded:

1)  You may record your recital yourself by following the instructions linked below. There are a USB/SD Card recording system linked directly into the hall microphones, and is located at the stage managers position. Dounda crew have been trained on the USB/SD Card recording system and can help if necessary.

2)  If you would like have your recital recorded by a staff member at EIU, please fill out the Student Audio Recording Request.

Recital recording must be arranged at least three weeks before the recital date. To ensure proper file labeling, please email a copy of the program to Kevin Di Bella.

Fees: The Recital Recording fee is $40 and includes edited and labeled stereo files of each piece on your program. These will be delivered in both a larger size, higher quality WAV format, and a lower size, compressed MP3 format. The files can be downloaded via a Google Drive link though email, or scheduled to be picked up at the recording studio up to 30 days following the recital.

Payment: A $20 deposit is due with the request form. The $20 balance is due the day after the approved recital preview. Please make checks payable to Eastern Illinois University, and submit to the Department of Music Office, DFAC 2620.

Cancellation/Rescheduling: If the recital preview is not approved or the recital is cancelled, the $20 deposit is retained, but will apply to a rescheduled recording. The Recording Service requires three weeks notice for rescheduled recordings also, and as before, the balance of recording costs are due the day after the approved preview. If the recital is rescheduled with less advance time, it will be recorded only if it can be accommodated on the recording studio calendar. If the rescheduled date cannot be accommodated, a full refund will be issued.

Please feel free to contact Kevin Di Bella with questions, other details regarding your concert, or if you wish to schedule a larger recording session.
