Concert Band Audition Information
All non-music majors who would like to audition for Concert Band should prepare a short audition for video submission by 9:00pm on Thursday, August 18th. Audition content possibilities are listed below. Please be sure to register for the course MUS 0201R. If you have questions, please email Dr. Alicia Neal, Director of Bands.

Concert Band, Non-music Major Audition Content:
- Scales
- Two, major scales of your choice (memorization is not required)
- Ascending chromatic scale, slurred, full range (memorization is not required)
- Two Prepared Excerpts in Contrasting Styles
- 24-36 measures of music from each excerpt of something you played for solo and ensemble or ILMEA auditions, from a previously performed band piece, or any etudes you may have already played. One excerpt should be in a slow, lyrical style. The other excerpt should be at a faster tempo and demonstrate finger technique and articulation.
