Why Study Premodern Global Studies at EIU?

  • Premodern Global Studies allows students to build a minor that will augment their major according to their own interests in a variety of disciplines.
  • Each year there is a Premodern theme with special programming organized. Please see the events tab on our website for past themes and speakers.
  • Students often find that they are currently taking courses for their majors that can also count toward this minor or that they have transferred credits that can count!
"I chose Premodern global studies as a minor because I wanted to experience different departments and fields that I had not studied in college yet. As a transfer student, I did not get the opportunity to study Art or History, so I wanted to open my horizons and try new things because college is the place to explore new possibilities and gain new interests."
