"I picked EIU because their one-on-one interactions are seriously an amazing thing. I feel like I learn more when I get more one on one interaction not saying I can't work in a group but one on one is just amazing. But honestly, what sealed the deal was the campus itself. It had this awesome, welcoming vibe that just felt like home."

What You'll Learn

The chemistry major focuses on the composition, structure and behavior of matter, and it is a fit if you enjoy lab work, problem-solving and mathematics. All options share a common foundation of chemistry, calculus and physics. The department offers five paths: a B.S. in Chemistry (ACS certified) for industry, government or advanced study; a B.S. with a management concentration that combines chemistry with business; a B.S.
