Assistant Professor of Music Technology and Composition

The Eastern Illinois University Department of Music invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Music Technology and Composition. This appointment will begin in August 2023.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching music technology courses, teaching and maintaining the EIU electronic music studio, teaching applied composition and composition courses, leading weekly studio class, recruiting composition and music technology students, and provide leadership in the Bachelor of Arts in Audio Recording Technology program. Other duties may include upper-level music theory (including orchestration and analysis).

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with 4 or more years of teaching undergraduates, 2 years teaching graduate students.

Deadline: Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. For best consideration apply by November 14, 2022.

Application: Submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, contact information for five professional references, undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable for application), link to a video of a 15-20-minute recent teaching demonstration, one link to a recording of a composition, and an additional artifact demonstrating creative activity or scholarship in music technology.
