Assistant Professor of Social Work

The Department of Human Services at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of social work to begin August 2024 or soon after.

A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, as well as a doctorate degree is required, at the time of appointment is preferred, but ABD applications will be considered. We are seeking applicants with a background in social work practice to contribute to our Human Services program and an anticipated Interdisciplinary Bachelor of Social Work program with the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology. Successful candidates will have experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas: child welfare, family relationships, addictions, aging studies, incarceration, and other areas relevant to the field of human services and social work. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach current departmental offerings and develop courses in social work or their areas of expertise. Candidates must be interested in serving as a program director and be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching, demonstrate potential for research and publication, and service to the discipline/university.
