Associate Dean of the College of Health & Human Services

Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Associate Dean in the College of Health and Human Services to begin July 1, 2024 (academic rank to be determined based on qualifications, which may be tenure-track or tenured faculty member). Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Health and Human services, the associate dean serves to advance and support the College's mission. The College has six academic units, including Public Health and Nutrition, Human Services, the Gail and Richard Lumpkin School of Nursing, Communication Disorders and Sciences, Military Science, and Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation with 60 full-time faculty members. The College has an extensive range of external community outreach programs including and an Adult Fitness Program, the Child and Family Life Education Center, Child Care Resource and Referral, a Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic, and an Autism Center that serves the university community.

Primary Responsibilities:

Qualifications: Required qualifications include a doctorate in an academic discipline represented within the College, three years of leadership experience as either graduate coordinator, department chair, or other related university administrative role(s), excellent written or oral communication skills, and evidence of achievement in teaching, research, and service, and experience leading and working in a negotiated environment.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence is required.
