Nahum Bigelow is listed in the 1830 census for Clark County rather than Coles. Only a few months after the census was taken, Coles County was organized on December 25, 1830. After converting to Mormonism, he moved his family to Mercer County, where he is again listed on the 1840 census. The Mercer census shows the growth of his family.
