Coles County

John C. Worrell aged 23 years residing in Hickory township in said County on oath says that he heard Bryant Thornhill make a speech at Oakland last summer in which he said to his hearers that if any union man or Abolitionist throw out and insinuations against them (the Butternuts) to shoot them (the union men) down as the would a dog.
