The English Department at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a full-time non- tenure-track lecturer position. We seek an instructor with preparation and interest in teaching first-year writing; teaching opportunities in addition to composition will depend upon the qualifications of the successful candidate. One of the positions is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal.

An MA or MFA in English is required. Candidates with PhD, ABD, or coursework beyond the master’s level are of course welcome, and those with advanced preparation may be eligible to teach courses in their areas of specialty in our undergraduate major or our MA program.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusivity is required.

Full-time positions at EIU provide health insurance and other benefits along with competitive salary. Instructors are not required to provide institutional service beyond instruction, but are welcome to participate in the life of the department and campus as desired.
