MEI RISE Chat - 'Body Shaming and Body Claiming: Body Discrimination in Society and the Workplace' |
A diversity chat between panelists and the audience on the topic of body discrimination. We will discuss how despite protections against other forms of discrimination, one's weight, height, transgender or non-binary dress, etc., are still subjects of jokes in society and the workplace and can largely impact hiring, retention, pay rates, and of course, mental health. This RISE Chat series is hosted by Making Excellence Inclusive, an EIU faculty-student organization on diversity and inclusiveness in education. All students, faculty, staff, and community member are welcome to attend.
