Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre

Eastern Illinois University Department of Theatre seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre to teach undergraduate courses in Acting for the Musical Stage, Musical Theatre Dance, and Auditioning. The ability to teach courses in the overall performance curriculum, such as Acting I and Stage Movement, as well as Musical Theatre History and specialized areas of dance, including tap, is highly desirable.

This position requires internal and external service obligations as well as an active agenda of creative work in the industry.

Applicants must have an MFA or BFA in Theatre with at least five years of significant professional credits and union membership, as well as experience in directing and choreographing theatrical productions to be considered for this tenure-track appointment.  Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience promoting inclusive excellence is required. Preferred qualifications: At least two years of university level teaching and the ability to recruit and retain students for a young program.
