Assistant Professor, Computer Technology or Cybersecurity

Tenure track faculty position in the Eastern Illinois University School of Technology for Computer Technology Graduate Certificate or Cybersecurity M.S. Program.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate-level computer technology or cybersecurity courses and may support one or more of the undergraduate degree programs. This is a 9-month full-time position. The typical workload per semester includes 3-4 courses in a combined classroom and laboratory environment. Service to the academic and local community and conducting of research is also required. In addition, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in technology-related research, and contributing to assessment and accreditation processes are expected.

Qualifications: A minimum of a doctorate degree in computer technology, networking, or a cybersecurity-related field from a nationally accredited university is required. Preference is for applicants who have industrial and/or teaching experience. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding teaching abilities. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience in promoting inclusive excellence are required.

The school offers bachelor's degree programs in Computer and Information Technology, Construction Management, Digital Media Technology, Engineering Technology, and Organizational Development. Graduate Degree programs include the M.S. in Technology, M.S. in Cybersecurity, M.S. in Sustainability, and M.S. in Talent Development. The selected candidate will be appointed as a member of the School of Technology. The candidate must be a highly motivated, team player to assist in the continued growth of these programs.
