Assistant Professor of Construction and Project Management

The School of Technology at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Construction and Project Management.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in construction management and may support one or more of the graduate degree fields. A typical workload per semester will include 3-4 courses in a classroom and laboratory environment. In addition, building and maintaining a strong relationship with construction industry partners, curriculum development, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in technology-related research, supervising a student club, and contributing to the planned program accreditation process are expected. Commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence is required.

Qualifications: A minimum of a doctoral degree in Construction Management or a related field from a nationally accredited university is required. Preference is given to applicants with 3-5 years of construction management experience. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding teaching abilities. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience promoting inclusive excellence is required.

Eastern Illinois University is located in Charleston, Illinois – a comfortable and safe east central town within a two-to three-hour drive of three major metropolitan areas -- Chicago, Indianapolis, and St. Louis. 

School of Technology: The selected candidate will be appointed as a member of the School of Technology. The EIU School of Technology serves over 900 undergraduate and graduate students. The school offers five bachelor's degree programs and four graduate degree programs. The candidate must be a highly motivated team player to assist in the continued growth of these programs.
