Description
The School of Nursing at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for two full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Instructor, with an anticipated start date of August 2026.
We seek candidates committed to excellence in student learning and to the academic and clinical education of undergraduate nursing students in the traditional prelicensure BSN and RN-BSN programs. Responsibilities include classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction; student mentoring; participation in program assessment and curriculum development; and service to the School, College, and University.
Department
The vision of the School of Nursing is to promote health and well-being through innovative, concept-guided, and interprofessional education; cultivate high-quality nursing practice; serve diverse local and global populations; and instill a commitment to lifelong learning. The School of Nursing offers a fully online RN-BSN program and a traditional prelicensure BSN program. Faculty collaborate to provide high-quality educational experiences for both online and on-campus students.

Duties
• Teach in the undergraduate traditional BSN and online RN-BSN programs
• Provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction
• Assist with preparation, maintenance, and implementation of nursing laboratory activities
• Mentor and advise students
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessment
• Engage in service at the program, college, and university levels
• Maintain RN licensure and engage in professional development and continuing education
• Contribute to faculty governance
• Travel to clinical sites as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
1. Current or eligibility for Registered Nurse licensure in Illinois by start date
2. Master’s degree in Nursing
3. Clinical preparation and experience in medical-surgical and/or psychiatric nursing
4. Minimum of two years of clinical practice experience
5. Willingness to teach within a concept-based curriculum and complete professional development in concept-guided education
6. Commitment to student-centered teaching and ability to adopt instructional technologies
7. Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and administrators
Preferred:
1. Experience teaching in an accredited nursing program
2. Online teaching experience

Salary Range: $49,140.00-$72,900.00 base salary per academic year.
