Department of Political Science Position Announcement
Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Public Policy
The Department of Political Science at Eastern Illinois University invites applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor in the field of Public Administration and Public Policy, beginning August 16, 2026.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctorate or Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Affairs, Public Policy, or a related field.
Responsibilities: Job duties for this position include teaching introductory and upper-division undergraduate courses and online graduate courses in public administration and policy. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, conducting research, and providing services to the department, college, and the university.
This position is required to meet 18 CUs per academic year (60% of job duties). During probation, 3 CUs will be assigned for research per academic year (20%). Voluntary services for the department, college, and the university are necessary; CUs for services may be granted if necessary but not guaranteed (20%).

Salary/Pay Rate: The salary range for this position is $6,455.00 to $8,050.00 monthly for a 9-month contract.
