Assistant Professor of Data Security

Position: Tenure track faculty position in the Eastern Illinois University School of Technology for the Cybersecurity and/or Technology M.S. Programs

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate-level Cybersecurity and/ or Computer Technology courses and may support one or more of the undergraduate degree programs. This is a 9-month full-time tenure track position. The typical workload per semester includes 3-4 courses in a combined classroom and laboratory environment. Service to the academic and local community and conducting research is also required. In addition, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in technology-related research, and contributing to assessment and accreditation processes are expected. Commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence is required.

Qualifications: A minimum of a doctorate degree in Computer Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunication, Data Security, Networking, or a Cybersecurity-related field from a nationally accredited university is required. Preference is for applicants who have industrial and/or teaching experience. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding teaching abilities. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience in promoting inclusive excellence are required.
