Accounting Officer

Eastern Illinois University is seeking a full-time Accounting Officer in the Procurement Department.  This position is responsible for processing payments of all invoices, travel reimbursements and non-personal services made by the Accounts Payable Department.

The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma  and one or a combination totaling two years (24 months) from the categories below:

• Course work in accounting, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
  • • 9 semester hours equals two years (24 months)
• Course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
  • • 30 semester hours equals one year (12months)
    • Associate degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months
    • 90 semester hours equals two years (24 months)
• Work experience in bookkeeping, office support, or closely related experience.

The Civil Service examination for this position is a credentials assessment.  No participation other than the submission of application materials is required from qualified applicants.
