IT Technical Associate – Technical Support Specialist
The Information Technology Services Help Desk at Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for the position of IT Technical Associate – Technical Support Specialist. Duties of this position are to handle both incoming phone calls and walk-ins and create ticket requests for end users; install and upgrade software and configure systems and applications for desktops; access software updates, drivers, and knowledge bases to research problem resolution; and generate and mail Panther Cards for the on-line student population.
Qualified candidates should have two years of progressively more responsible work experience with end user support, end point devise support and troubleshooting, and technical phone support, or a Bachelors’ degree in IT or computer technology-related field and one year of the above experience.
The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants. Upon successful selection of a candidate, all scores will be voided from this IT Technical Associate – Technical Support Specialist register.
