Human Resource Assistant Manager

Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for a full-time Human Resource Assistant Manager in the Department of Human Resources.  This position will provide support across all Human Resource areas.  Duties will include, but not limited to, the supervision of the Benefits Department; evaluating for areas of improvement, ensuring processes and policies are current and relevant, and helps represent Human Resources on various campus or external committees.  This person will also oversee Workers Compensation and FMLA; be able to process and interpret data for reporting purposes, and act as the main contact for external entities in regards to insurance, retirement and other benefits.

Qualified candidates must meet the following credentials:

1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Any combination totaling four years from the following categories:

• • • progressively more responsible work experience maintaining, monitoring and/or processing human resource records and reports.
    • college coursework in human resource administration, business administration, or a closely-related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 30 semester hours equals one (1) year
            2. Associate’s degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
            3. 90 semester hours equals two (2) years
            4. Bachelor’s degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years

The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment.
