Housing Representative

Eastern Illinois University’s Residential Life Department is seeking candidates for a full-time Housing Representative.  This position will support and assist in the operation and administration of residential housing and facilities, residential life programs, and implementation of housing procedures and policies.  Duties will include:

• Assist and support front desk management of all residential facilities and main housing office.
• Assist in the processing of housing contracts, applications, assignments, room changes, and termination processes. Coordinate room change requests.
• Assist in managing the mail process for all housing facilities.
• Assist in the billing process, including the initial billing and any changes to a student’s account.
• Assist in the submission of work orders.
• Responsible for key inventory of lockout keys and back up keys.
• Provide frontline customer service for the main housing office.

Requirements for this position are:

1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Any combination totaling two (2) years from the following categories:

1. 1. 1. Housing, residential life, hospitality, business or closely related work experience.
      2. College course work in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Hospitality Sciences, Business Sciences, Social or Behavioral Sciences, or related disciplines, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

• • • • • 30 semester hours equals six (6) months.
        • 60 semester hours equals one (1) year.
        • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years.
        • 120 semester hours or a Bachelor’s Degree equals three (3) years.
        • Master’s Degree or higher equals four (4) years.

The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than the submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants.
