Information Technology Technical Associate: Data Center and Network Engineer

The Information Technology Services at Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for the position of IT Technical Associate – Data Center and Network Engineer.  The duties of this position are to install, maintain, and monitor EIU’s data center hardware and provide secondary support for EIU’s virtualization environment. The position is also a member of the team responsible for configuring and maintaining EIU’s copper/Fiber and WiFi network. 

Qualified candidates should have two years of progressively more responsible work experience with System/Network Administration or an Associate’s degree in IT or computer technology-related field and one year of the above experience.  Preferred qualifications/experience include VMware vCenter, esxi servers, storage arrays monitoring and maintenance, linux/windows server os, fortinet/cisco administration, and network design.

The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment.  No participation other than the submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants. Upon successful selection of a candidate, all scores will be voided from this IT Technical Associate – Data Center and Network Engineer register.
