As we prepare to celebrate Dr. Julie Dietz’s retirement we would like to share a meaningful way to honor her remarkable legacy at Eastern Illinois University. This scholarship is endowed to honor her decades of service as a faculty member, administrator, advisor, and mentor at Eastern Illinois.

Since joining EIU in 1992, Julie has inspired generations of students through her compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to their success—guiding her department through change and serving the university during times of transition, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

About the Scholarship

The Julie Tresnak Dietz Scholarship was created for students currently in the Department of Public Health and Nutrition, preferably with an emphasis on helping students who intend to go into education-related professional fields or graduate-study programs.

This scholarship stands as a tribute to Dr. Dietz’s lifelong commitment to education and to preparing the next generation of health professionals and teachers who, like her, will strive to make the world a better place.
