Survivors of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871   —  October 8, 2024

Step back in time to experience the gripping personal stories of those who lived through one of the most devastating events in American history in "Survivors of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871." This one-person theatrical presentation, led by local community theatre actor, director, playwright, and former area educator Ann Morris Bruehler, brings to life the voices of those who endured the fire. Through first-person accounts, Ann will portray survivors of all ages, offering a glimpse into their harrowing experiences. 

Among the stories shared is that of Mary Lincoln, who was living in Chicago at the time of the fire. Ann's captivating performance will give you a window into the bravery, loss, and resilience of those who witnessed the destruction firsthand.
