Staged Reading: Antígona Furiosa   —  March 28, 2023

A Women's History Month event co-sponsored by The Theatre Department and Latin American and Latinx Studies Program.

This is a staged reading of famous Argentinian playwright Griselda Gambaro's adaptation of Antigone- Antígona Furiosa. Directed by Theatre Faculty member Dr. Christiana Molldrem Harkulich and featuring acting by EIU students. Antígona Furiosa takes Sophocles' Greek Tragedy and re-imagines it in the aftermath of Argentina's dirty war. The reading will be followed by a short discussion with the audience, cast members, and faculty members. Run time: 1.5 hrs.
