Faculty & Student Awards

The Faculty Award for Interdisciplinary Research (FAIR) funds a project that involves two or more academic units in the College. The purpose of the grant is to promote collaborative scholarly activity among faculty from two or more disciplines within the CHHS to enhance our academic research culture. The project must involve at least one undergraduate or graduate student to foster integrative learning.

This award will not be available spring semester, 2019.


The Faculty Research/Creative Activity Grant funds two projects for research and creative activity.  Funds are available for commodities, contractual services, equipment, travel, and student help related to the project. The potential for the research/creative activity initiative or work to actively engage students is paramount in the selection process.

Completed applications should be forwarded to the Department Chair/Program Coordinator according to procedures established in the Department or Program by October 15, 2018. Chairs and Coordinators will forward applications with the completed approval forms to the Dean for presentation to the CHHS Research Committee by October 19, 2018.


The Scholarship and Undergraduate Research First (SURF) award funds both a faculty mentor and undergraduate student projects with the award equally split between the faculty mentor and student.

Completed applications should be forwarded to the Department Chair/Program Coordinator according to procedures established in the Department or Program by October 15, 2018. Chairs and Coordinators will forward applications with the completed approval forms to the Dean for presentation to the CHHS Research Committee by October 19, 2018.
