The DWF Collaborative Redesign Initiative is a strategic effort aligned with Activity 1.22 of Plan 2028, which aims to improve retention and graduation rates for all EIU learners. These grantees will receive $5,000 in collaborative redesign grants to support efforts during Summer 2024, a total of 0.25 CUs for a faculty redesign leader or leaders, and direct consultation and support from the FDIC.

This initiative is innovative and novel both through its collaborative design and strategic planning. A full evaluation of the initiative is also underway as we launch the initiative on April 15, 2024. For more information, please visit: https://www.eiu.edu/fdic/dwfredesign.php.

  • 2025 Student Lincoln Laureate Nominations Due May 20

Every year, an outstanding senior from each of the four-year degree-granting institutions of higher learning in Illinois is awarded the Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award and thereby becomes a Student Laureate of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. Student Laureates are honored for their leadership and service on campus and beyond, their pursuit of the betterment of humanity, and for their overall excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities. Faculty and staff are invited to nominate an outstanding senior to be named EIU’s Student Laureate from our 2025 graduating class (baccalaureate degree).

A note from the Lincoln Academy: As you consider a deserving student who demonstrates strong leadership aptitude, please also consider the characteristics of Abraham Lincoln that made him someone who inspired and transformed the world for generations: integrity, courage, honesty, and empathy. It is highly recommended that diverse fields of study be considered and that your Student Laureate has demonstrated exceptional attributes in leadership with an exhibited desire to make a difference in the world through civic engagement.

The recipient will receive the Lincoln Academy medallion, a challenge coin, and a stipend in the amount of $1,000 in recognition of their outstanding achievement. The in-person convocation will be held in Springfield on Saturday, October 26, 2024. The completed FORM, accompanied by a letter of nomination, must be returned to the Vice President for Student Affairs Office, 1031 Old Main or vpsa@eiu.edu, no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024.
