Sarah Bush Lincoln Scholarship


The Sarah Bush Lincoln Scholarship is a new scholarship for local students majoring in Nursing in the EIU Traditional Program. It is a last-dollar scholarship, meaning that it covers any tuition or fees (including room and board) remaining after other scholarships and awards have been applied.


How do I qualify?

To qualify, you must:

  • Be admitted to Eastern Illinois University
  • Be a full-time incoming freshman
  • Major in Pre-Nursing or Nursing
  • Have a high school GPA of 3.30 or higher (on a 4.00 scale)
  • Attend high school in, or currently reside in, one of the following Illinois counties: Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Moultrie, or Shelby.

This award will be announced in the Spring and disbursed the following Fall and Spring. Students may retain the award for a total of 4 years (8 semesters) if they remain continuously enrolled and meet admission and progression criteria for the EIU Nursing Traditional Program.

Please go to http://eiu.academicworks.com and search for "Sarah Bush Lincoln Scholarship" to apply for the scholarship today. The deadline is in mid-January. Check your Panthermail for important notifications about your application. Finalists will be contacted in late January to schedule campus interviews in February.

 

How do I maintain full-time enrollment at EIU?

You must be registered for a minimum of 12 credit hours by the published census date policy each semester. Full-time enrollment is assumed until census date.
