Progression Requirements

To progress through the nursing major, students must:

  • Earn a grade of C or better in all nursing courses to progress to the next semester in the program sequence. Co-requisite courses may be completed prior to or during the designated semester, but not afterward.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 to remain in and graduate from the program.
  • Successfully complete all nursing courses in the prescribed sequence.

Nursing courses are offered only once per academic year and are designed to be completed in a specific sequence. Therefore, students who are unsuccessful in a nursing course may not progress to subsequent nursing courses until the failed course has been repeated and successfully completed.

Students are permitted to repeat only one nursing course during the program. Following a course failure, the student will be removed from the program sequence and may not enroll in additional nursing courses until:

  1. The failed course is offered again;
  2. Space is available in the course; and
  3. The course is successfully completed.
