EIU New Student and Family Programs

Summer 2022 Morning Session Information

Check-in:  Check in will begin at 7:30am in the Alumni Lounge in the Martin Luther King Jr.Union.  Breakfast will be provided. 

Schedule of Events: (Please note that this schedule does not apply to students attending Gateway Orientation.)

            7:30am - Check in begins

            8am – Welcome and Academic Orientation

            9am-11:15am – Small Group Rotations

            11:15am-12pm – Expert Panel

            12pm-1:30pm – Panther Fair

Post-Orientation Activities (optional)

Residence Hall Tours - All tours depart from the Housing and Dining Office in the Union at the following times:

12:20pm - Andrews/Thomas
12:30pm - Lawson/Taylor
12:40pm - Ford, McKinney, Weller, Pemberton
12:50pm - Lincoln, Stevenson, Powell-Norton 
* Residence hall availability is subject to change.  Please also note that it will not be possible for students to see their assigned room.

Campus Tours - Tours will depart from the University Ballroom at 12pm and 12:45pm.

Financial Aid and Student Accounts Drop-In - For questions about your financial aid and scholarships, please drop by the Financial Aid office in the Student Services Building.  If you have questions about your tuition bill, please visit Student Accounts in Old Main.  Both offices will be open until 4:30pm.           

Parking:  The Visitor parking lot X, directly across from the water tower on 7th Street will be available during your visit without a parking permit.

COVID-19 Guidelines:  Although masks are generally not required, you may be asked to wear one while visiting campus, so please plan to bring one with you.

Panther Card Photo Upload:  Please upload your photo for your Panther Card prior to your arrival to Orientation.  You can upload your photo by logging into MyEIU and finding the PantherCard item on your checklist.  You will receive your Panther Card at Orientation.
