Dr. David J. Boggs is a professor of Management at EIU, Assistant Chair of the Management Discipline, and Coordinator of Graduate Business Studies. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas, specializing in Organizations, Strategy & International Management. He also has three master's degrees, and an undergraduate degree in business. He has worked in the areas of banking, non-profits, real estate, and consulting.
At Eastern, Dr. Boggs teaches strategy, international business, and organizational behavior. He has led many study abroad programs to Europe and Latin America, and has taught at Peking University in China, and lived in Haiti and Suriname.
Dr. Boggs has presented his research on five continents. It focuses on global competition and cooperation, innovation and technology in organizations, multinational firm ethics and social responsibility, and the experiences of living, studying and working internationally.
In 2006, after eight years at Saint Louis University, Dr. Boggs joined Eastern's faculty and moved to Charleston with his wife and two sons. Over two decades he has been involved in educating graduate students at the MBA and PhD levels, and since 2019 he has served as the Coordinator of Graduate Business Studies and adviser to Eastern's MBA students.
