EIU Master of Business Administration

Tuition and Fees

(subject to change annually; amounts identified below are based on rates of 2018 - 2019 only and are meant as estimates for illustrative purposes)

For MBA candidates enrolled in 2018 - 2019 tuition and fees for the face-to-face 33 credit hour MBA program are:


In-state Tuition: $299/credit hour

Out-of-state Tuition: $718/credit hour


Mandatory Textbook Rental and Campus Improvement Fee: $24.50/credit hour

*Full-Time Graduate Student University Fees:  $1,016/semester

*Part-time Graduate Student University Fees: $82/credit hour

Off-campus Class Fees: $44/credit hour


---> Example A: Full-time student in Charleston, in-state rate:

(33 x $299) + (33 x $24.50) + (4 x $1,016) = $14,740

---> Example B: Part-time student in EIU @ Parkland (Champaign), in-state rate, planning for six semesters

(33 x $299) + (33 x $24.50) + (33 x $82) + (33 x $44) = $14,834


* Full-time is 9 credit hours in Fall or Spring, 6 credit hours in Summer

The MBA program is considered a 4-semester full-time program (9 hrs x 3 semesters, 6 hrs x 1 semester), and 6 or more semesters for part-time.  Students can attend consecutively or intermittently to complete their degree within the 6 year time span that is allowed to earn credit towards a graduate degree at EIU.

Internal EIU scholarships open to MBA students include the Foster C. Rinefort Scholarship; the Li Zhang Memorial Scholarship; the Judge and Usha Oberoi Scholarship; and the Accountancy Advisory Board MBA Concentration in Accountancy Scholarship. Scholarships administered through the Graduate School at EIU include the Frances Meyer Hampton Graduate Scholarship Award. Competitive awards are also available through the Graduate School.
