Fees & Services at the

SBL-EIU Student Medical Clinic

Funding for visits to the SBL-EIU Student Medical Clinic is supplemented by the ”Health Services” student fee that is automatically billed through the students’ tuition and fees for students who are enrolled in on-campus academic programs.  The same services are available to both full and part-time students at the corresponding student fee rates.

Health Services fee 

• Undergraduate Student with Full-Time Status: $154.92 per semester
• Undergraduate Student with Part-Time Status: $12.91 per credit hour
• Graduate Student with Full-Time Status: $154.92 per semester
• Graduate Student with Part-Time Status: $12.91 per credit hour

Minimal fees for services are sometimes assessed at our cost to help supplement our services. These services primarily include: 

• Immunizations
• X-Rays
• Lab services
• Sexually Transmitted Infection Screenings
• Pap Exams
• Medical Equipment (ace bandages, wraps, etc.) 

The additional cost for services is greatly discounted. 

Payment Options 

The minimal fees for supplemental services noted above will be charged to the student's EIU account/bill. 

The SBL-EIU Student Medical Clinic does not accept any insurance for primary care services, nor is cash, credit, or debit accepted at the SBL-EIU Student Medical Clinic.

Payment for Services Rendered

The EIU Medical Clinic operations are contracted to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Systems.  Students enrolled in on-campus academic programs are assessed an a Health and Counseling Services Fee based on the number of semester hours they are taking each semester, allowing them access to the clinic, and the majority of clinic services without a co-pay or door fee. Some supplemental charges, as labs, x-rays, durable medical equipment and co-pays for psychiatric care, women's health, men's health, immunizations, etc. are billed directly to the student's account.  

Although managed by Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Systems, the SBL-EIU Medical Clinic does not bill for any 3rd party insurance.  Any charges incurred are billed directly to the student's EIU Account.  Students may request a walkout/billing statement that they may submit to thier 3rd party insurance for reimbursement.

EIU Student Insurance does not provide coverage for services rendered at the SBL-EIU Medical Clinic.
