Attendance Fees

To access information on the current tuition & fees, housing, and financial assistance please go to the following link: https://www.eiu.edu/finaid/cost.php. At EIU, students rent their textbooks instead of purchasing them.  All MSND students will take 36 semester hours of coursework with the students in the DI option, including 12 hours of the Dietetic Internship.

Living Expenses

Various living expenses, such as food and shelter, will be incurred during graduate school.  University housing and dining plans are available for graduate students while on campus. If you are completing the Dietetic Internship, a variety of housing options are available within the internship community.

Dietetic Internship Expenses

As with any graduate dietetic program there are additional expenses above and beyond fees and tuition. All such expenses are the responsibility of the student. An estimated range of such expenses may include:

  • Medical tests: $90-$120+, depending on if the tests are completed at the EIU Health Services or by their personal MD.

  • Background Check: $20

  • Drug Screen: $50

  • IAND Lobby Day: travel expenses

  • Lab Coat: $30, depending on brand of coat as well as geographic location of purchase.

  • Transportation: Transportation costs will be incurred by the intern and will vary by student. A reliable car is absolutely necessary during the Dietetic Internship rotations as the intern will travel to and from the medical centers, off-site medical rotation sites (i.e. Davita center), and/or various professional development opportunities. The State of Illinois requires all licensed drivers to carry liability insurance. Eastern Illinois University is not responsible for any damage to a student's car which may occur traveling to or from a site or while at that site.
