Graduate Assistantship –
Institutional Research and Business Operations
The office of Institutional Research and Business Operations is seeking an individual to assist in Web Application development, Data Analytics, and SQL Programming. This position will be for AY 2025 (Fall 2024 through Spring 2025). Minimum requirements include being enrolled full-time at EIU (9 semester hours). Students with an expected graduation of Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 or later are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students who start their graduate program in Fall 2024.
Graduate Assistant Requirements:
- Proficiency and prior work experience with web development using HTML 5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, PHP and MySQL, Oracle or any relational databases
- Understanding of object oriented programing concepts and using any one of IDE developer environments like, Adobe Dreamweaver, Visual Studio code, Jet Brains, PHP storm or eclipse
- Strong communication skills, including but not limited to, written and oral communication
- Adequate knowledge and skills in Oracle and MySQL database

- Strong time management and organization
- Proactive and detail oriented
- Independent and creative problem solver
