Live Close

Live Close. Living in one of the residence halls or apartment complex means you will be no further than a 10 minute walk to class, the library, the rec center, or to enjoy a meal.

Live Smart

Live Smart. EIU on-campus freshmen had a .69 higher GPA than off campus freshmen. On-campus sophomores had a .4 higher GPA than off campus sophomores. When you live on, it means you will have academic support at all times. We have Homework HeroesFaculty Fellows, and the Early Alert system to assist you.

Live Secure

Live Secure. When you live on campus, you will be protected by doors and hallways that require key access. There is campus security 24/7 by the University Police Department, Building Directors, Resident Assistants and the Night Assistants. Your safety is our top priority.

Live Supported

Live Supported. Your support system is a short walk away, down the hall, and around the corner. When you live in the halls, you will have easy access to your friends, staff, and faculty.

Live Easy

Live Easy. All Residence Halls and Apartments either have a dining center attached or within a very short walking distance. Grab a meal and dine in, or take it to go. Let us do the cooking.
