The School of Continuing Education at Eastern Illinois University is proud to announce they will be offering an OSHA 10 and an OSHA 30 training course for immediate certification.  This beneficial opportunity is being offered for the convenience of community members, industry leaders, and EIU students.

The OSHA 30-hour General Industry Outreach Training course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in general industry. Specifically devised for safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors; the program provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues.

We are offering a one and a half day OSHA 10 training on May 9th and 10th.  We are also offering a four day OSAH 30 General Industry Outreach Training course on May 9th- 12th from 8:00am to 4:30pm on Eastern Illinois University’s campus at the MLK Jr. Union.  For more information or to register, click here

Become a Lifeguard Instructor     

When: April 15   5:00-10:00pm
          April 16   8:00am-6:00pm

Where: Lantz Arena Ray Padovan Pool

Instructor: Sarah Daugherty

Cost: $175 plus books ($140 paid to EIU, $35 paid to American Red Cross)

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor course will offer participants the opportunity to become a certified ARC Lifeguard Instructor. In order to enroll in the course, participants must have current Lifeguard certification and be at least 17 years of age. For more information and schedule click here

Getting Paid to Talk - Voice Coaches with EIU School of Continuing Education

Attendees will learn everything from the basics of getting started, working int he studio, effective demo production methods and industry pros and cons, to where to look for opportunities in and around the community and how to land the job.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to record a mock commercial under the direction of a Voice Coaches producer.

Registration at least a week in advance is required. For more information or to register by the enrollment deadline, call 217-581-5114.  This class fee is $25 for EIU students and $40 for community members.
