Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association Conference

This year's conference will be in conjunction with the APT US&C 50th Annual Conference.  The conference theme of "APT US&C in the Windy City: Celebrating 50 Years of Keeping Public Treasurers in the Loop" leads us to reflect upon the history of APT US&C/IMTA and the value it has brought to our membership over the past 50 years.  We have been very successful in providing outstanding educational opportunities, certifying treasury skills, facilitating peer-to-peer interaction, and creating opportunities for corporate partners to engage with members. This conference will build upon our past success and usher in the next half century of service to our membership.

APT US&C's 50th Anniversary Annual Conference will be held at the Hilton Chicago. It is centrally located in downtown Chicago with walking distance of many Chicago attractions including Grant Park and Navy Pier. The hotel is a short cab ride from the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium and Soldier Field. It is also near Chicago's Magnificent Mile shopping district.

A block of rooms is being held at the hotel at the rate of $189 a night single or double occupancy.

Hilton Chicago is approximately 45 minutes from Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Taxi service is approximately $50 each way. The Super Shuttle service is approximately $35 each way. The Hilton is also 30 minutes away from Chicago Midway Airport. Taxi service is approximately $35 each way, and the Super Shuttle is approximately $26 each way. Public transportation is also available from the airports to the hotel.

 Municipal Clerk's of Illinois Institute and Academy

The Municipal Clerks of Illinois (MCI) is an organization of approximately 900 members comprising the majority of the municipalities in the state of Illinois.  Municipal Clerks are responsible for a wide range of essential duties - some prescribed y state statute, and some prescribed by local government.

The Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) Program is designed to enhance the job performance of the Clerk in both small and large municipalities.  It requires attendance at extensive education programs as well as pertinent relevant experience in a municipality.  The program prepares applicants to meet the challenges of the role of Municipal Clerk with quality education in partnership with institutions of higher learning, as well as State, Provincial, and National Associations.  

The Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) Program is an advanced continuing education program that prepares participants to perform complex municipal duties.  The program has an extensive and rigorous educational component and a professional and social contribution component.  MMC Applicants must demonstrate that they are actively pursued education and professional activities.

Illinois Municipal Treasurers Institute

Treasurers, finance officers and support staff have a need for continuing professional education to develop and maintain the skills and knowledge necessary to help achieve the prudent person’s rule of financial management. The Illinois Municipal Treasurers Institute (IMTI) is an intensive training program which provides 100 hours of instruction for municipal treasurers, finance officers and support staff.
