This year Eastern Illinois University will host it's 41st Annual Community College Articulation Conference on Wednesday, September 17th. In addition to this one day conference, the College of Education and Professional Studies will offer a special Teacher Education session on EIU's campus on the evening of Tuesday, September 16th to address all the changes to teacher preparation in Illinois. The conference will include workshops, demonstrations, panel discussions, keynote speakers, and exhibitions. Eastern Illinois University in partnership with the Library of Congress and Teaching with Primary Sources will host the 35th Annual History and Social Science Teachers Conference on Friday, October 10th. This conference is a professional development opportunity for Secondary and Middle-Level Educators.
Lee Ann Potter, the Director of Educational Outreach from the Library of Congress will be the keynote speaker. There will also be a lunch panel discussion on The Common Core & Higher Education.

The Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics will hold its 64th Annual Meeting at the Tinley Park Convention Center in Tinley Park, Illinois on October 17 & 18, 2014. Our pre-conference speaker and keynote speaker will be Dan Meyer, recognized as one of the Tech & Learning's 30 Leaders of the Future and an Applie Distringuished Education. Dan asks, "How can we design the ideal learning experience for students?"
