EIU, Follett Higher Education Share Details on Upcoming Bookstore Transition & Important Dates

Eastern Illinois University and Follett Higher Education are partnering to deliver a modern retail experience at the EIU Bookstore. The upcoming transition of EIU Bookstore operations in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union will create a modern retail experience designed to serve the needs of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader EIU community.

What You Need to Know 

Textbook rental will continue at EIU. Additional details about bookstore operations and services will be shared as they become available. 

Important Dates 

• Thursday, April 30: Last day to submit technology for repair  
• Friday, May 1: Last day to order Apple products  
• Friday, May 8: Last day to place online store orders  
• Monday, June 1: Last day to complete returns (Size exchanges cannot be guaranteed due to limited inventory) 
• Wednesday, June 3: Last day to use bookstore gift cards  

Temporary Store Closures 

• Thursday, June 25 – Friday, July 4: To support the transition 

Reopening 

• July 6: Bookstore reopens under new operations
