The English Department is pleased to offer competitively-awarded graduate assistantships. These assistantships provide financial support to qualified graduate students who are enrolled as degree-seeking candidates. Graduate assistantship offers are made during the spring semester along with offers of admission to the English M.A. Program.
Students who are awarded graduate assistantships receive a monthly stipend and tuition waiver in exchange for duties performed within the academic unit as they work closely with department faculty in the areas of teaching, research, and service.
QUALIFICATIONS: Any students accepted into the English M.A. Program are eligible for an assistantship within the English Department.
TIMELINE: Graduate students interested in a graduate assistantship should complete the GA application as part of their application to the English M.A. Program (applications are due March 1). GA applicants may be asked to interview with members of the Graduate Studies Committee. GA offers are made during the spring semester, usually by the end of March. (On occasion, GA positions are available in the Spring semester. These applications are due mid-October in the previous Fall semester.)
