
The Graduate Student Advisory Council, the Council on Graduate Studies and The Graduate School will be sponsoring the 2013 Graduate Student Exposition during the month of April, 2013. The week will include the Distinguished Graduate Student Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 11, in the Grand Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

The Graduate Video Showcase will highlight graduate research in a video and live panel format. The showcase will take place Thursday, April 4 in the Lecture Hall of the Doudna Fine Arts Center starting at 3:30 pm. The College of Arts and Humanities and the Lumpkin College of Business and Applied Sciences will begin at 3:30 pm. The College of Sciences and College of Education and Professional Studies will begin at 5:00 pm. Graduate programs in English, Communication Studies, Family and Consumer Sciences, MBA, Biological Sciences, Political Science, Elementary Education, and Counseling will be featured. The entire campus and local community are welcome to attend.

The Distinguished Graduate Student Awards Ceremony will recognize those students who have achieved excellence in graduate scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year. The ceremony, which begins at 4:30 pm, also recognizes the Williams Travel Grant winners, Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award winner, King-Mertz Research/Creative Activity Award winner, the Distinguished Graduate Student Award, and the prestigious Hamand Scholars. Graduate students will be displaying their research posters and digital presentations in the Alumni Lounge and Grand Ballroom before and during the ceremony. All students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend this event .
The Graduate Expo Research Poster and Digital Presentation Exhibit will take place in the Alumni Lounge and Grand Ballroom of the MLK University Union beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Easels will be provided for posters. Tables for digital presentations will be available in the Grand Ballroom.
Students will be responsible for the security of equipment; it is not recommended to set up digital presentations before 3:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to be present with their research exhibit in the hour before the Distinguished Graduate Student Ceremony on that afternoon (3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.) Posters and digital presentations will be included in a competition with a category determined by the graduate program's academic college affiliation.
The deadline for submission for the Poster and Digital Presentation is March 29, 2013. Students interested in exhibiting a poster or digital presentation at the Awards Ceremony need to register by clicking here.
