The simple steps to becoming EIU
Your MyEIU account is free and easy; all it takes is an email address to get started. You can even sign up via Facebook! Once you've logged into MyEIU, you can learn everything there is to know about Eastern and get information about everything the university has to offer — all tailored to your unique set of interests!
While MyEIU will serve as a vital source for info and updates, we still encourage you to visit our campus prior to applying! A visit can be scheduled through MyEIU, and several dates are available.
Once you've decided Eastern Illinois University is for you, you can apply to EIU via your MyEIU account! Just click the "Apply Now" button and get the process started.
You'll be able to keep tabs on the status of your application through MyEIU; you'll receive a message when you have been officially admitted to EIU!
Congratulations! Now that you've been admitted to EIU, ensure your spot in the student body by paying your new student deposit.
Another important thing to do once you've been admitted is figure out where you're going to live! Freshmen are generally required to live on campus in a residence hall, and you'll be able to check out all our options and apply for housing through the MyEIU system.
All freshmen are required to attend an orientation session prior to their first semester at Eastern, and you can book your spot through MyEIU by April 20. We offer many orientation dates throughout the summer, providing you an opportunity to get to know EIU, meet with your freshman advisor and schedule classes.
Now you're ready for your first semester at Eastern! Welcome to the EIU family! We're glad to have you, and we're confident you'll be glad you came!
All entering art majors are required to have an Apple laptop computer. The hardware requirements are subject to change each year as Apple develops and markets new laptop models, which normally happens sometime during late-Winter or Spring of the year. Current Fall 2012 hardware requirements can be found here.
