EIU Board of Trustees meeting results: Thursday, September 10

(Charleston, IL) – The Eastern Illinois University Board of Trustees held its regular September meeting today, September 10, in the Doudna Fine Arts Center, located on campus at 600 Lincoln Avenue in Charleston. Immediately following the 11 a.m. Call to Order and Roll Call, the Board approved a motion to enter into Executive Session. The open session of the meeting began at 1 p.m. The results of the September meeting included:
- A welcome and executive summary report from Board Chair Julie Everett and associated committee reports from representative Trustees
- Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting and Board of Trustees retreat meeting in June (2026)
- Approval of the final FY27 budget and preliminary FY28 budget
- Approval of a single graduate online tuition rate for both domestic and international students, set equal to the current Illinois Resident rate, effective January 1, 2027
- Ratification of the EIU/Charleston CUSD#1 partnership approved by the Board of Trustees Executive Committee in July 2026
- First reading and consideration of updates to Board Regulations (Sections II.B and C)
- Personnel contract authorization for Mark Wilson as Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and a five-year extension for Head Softball Coach Kristi Paulson, who led the Panthers to consecutive Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships and bids to the NCAA Tournament Regionals in 2025 and 2026
- Approval of depositories (financial institutions) for conducting routine University business
- Updates on Title IX by Director of the Office of Civil Rights Dr. Shawn Peoples
- A summary of routine University business matters, including purchase approvals, non-indentured and indentured reserves, reports from campus constituencies, deposit and investment reports, and updates on recent University accomplishments and achievements.
