Fall 2023 Commencement Volunteers Needed

Alumni Services is looking for volunteers to assist us with Fall Commencement.  As you may or may not know, 90% of the staff at commencement are faculty, staff, annuitants and Alumni Association board members who graciously volunteer their time to help give students and their families an excellent experience.  That said, we are looking for some more amazing people willing to volunteer a couple hours and help us celebrate all the hard work and success our students have accomplished!

We have two areas where we need volunteer assistance: 

1.         Ticket Distribution – Wednesday, December 13 and Thursday, December 14 – Lantz Fieldhouse
Generally our time slots are as followed:  8:45-11:30a; 11:30a-2:00p and 2:00-4:30p

2.         Commencement Day – Saturday, December 16 – HIGHER NEED OF VOLUNTEERSWe will need volunteers for several different positions, which include: collecting tickets, passing out programs, helping students in the Student Rec Center, assisting with wheel chairs and helping answer questions in the main concourse.  Please consider spending part or all of the day with our graduates and their families.  If you wish to assist all day we would ask you arrive at 8:30am and could be done assisting by 2pm. 

The Fall 2023 Commencement ceremonies will be held on Saturday, December 16.  There will be two ceremonies:

                10 a.m.                                

            College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School
            Lumpkin College of Business and Technology and the Graduate School

               1:00 p.m.     

            College of Education and the Graduate School
            College of Health and Human Services and the Graduate School                           

If you would like to volunteer for the Fall 2023 Commencement Ceremonies and help make this a great experience for the graduates and their families please email me with what you are interested in assisting with.  Even if you can only provide a few hours of assistance, anything and everything is greatly appreciated.
