Pre-Retirement Summer Assignments Application & Eligibility

Faculty eligible to apply for pre-retirement summer assignments must do so by October 13, 2023.  An application for the pre-retirement summer assignment obligation may be obtained at http://eiu.edu/acaffair/Forms/RetirementForms/PRERETIREMENT.pdf. 

To be eligible, faculty must have completed 15 years of service at the University in Unit A, must have an annual appointment that does not exceed 10 months, must not be on retaining leave or leave without salary, must not have previously received an approved university pre-retirement session assignment, and must declare a firm retirement date, under the provisions of Article 6.2.i. of the EIU-UPI Unit A Agreement.

Approval of eligible faculty members' requests for pre-retirement summer assignments will be made by November 15, 2023.
