Employment Opportunity -- Business/Administrative Associate - Procurement

Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for a full-time Civil service position of Business/Administrative Associate in the Procurement Office.  Responsibilities of this position include:

 

·         Reviews procedures and work with Director to ensure the comply with procurement laws.  Make sure procedures are understood and followed by departments.

·         Develop procedures to improve process efficiency and reduce costs.

·         Train, supervise, and review the work of new Procurement Officers/Procurement Officer Assistants.

·         Provide job training and professional development guidance across campus.

·         Act as buyer for the Campus Recreation, Health Services, International Programs, and Continuing Education.

·         Administers and manages the Procurement Card Program.

·         Assist the Director and performs tasks in their absence.

Qualifications:  Requires Bachelor’s degree in business, management, communications, or other fields related to areas of procurement, in addition to 2 years of experience in business, finance, and/or management.

This position also requires strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize, meet deadlines and balance multiple projects simultaneously. Also, strong organizational, time management skills and attention to detail are a must.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.  Working knowledge/experience with Argos and Banner is preferred.

The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment.  No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants.  Upon successful selection of a candidate, all scores will be voided from this Business/Administrative Associate – Procurement.
