Learn how to be an empowered researcher at Booth Library

Students: Do you need help with research this semester? Booth librarians have you covered with quick 30-minute research sessions offered both in person and online. Learn about the library, how to search using keywords, how to locate an article or book, and more.

  • Join us to learn the best way to search a database or the library catalog: KEYWORDS! We will practice breaking down a topic sentence or thesis statement into keywords and look at strategies for finding synonyms.

Finding Data for your Research
Data is all around us, but finding the right dataset relevant to your research or assignment can be challenging. This session will identify useful resources and best practices for locating data that will best fit your needs.

Tips & Tricks to Find Scholarly Articles
Your professor wants you to use three scholarly articles for your research paper. What?? Join us to learn the difference between a scholarly article and trade publication and the easiest way to find these materials. We will practice using EBSCO search on the library website to locate articles that meet all your criteria.

Finding Books at Booth
Your professor wants you to use two books for your research project. Where do you start? Join us to learn the how to locate a book in the electronic catalog, and then how to actually find it on the shelf. It's easier than you think! We will also explore interlibrary loan and how distance students can have books sent to their home.
