The conscientious use of keys ( both residence and vehicle) will prevent most theft. Unfortunately, as the semester wears on, we as a community become less vigilant and assume that our friends (residence halls) and neighbors (vehicles) will not steal from us. This is not the case. Use your keys at all times. It only takes a matter of seconds for another to enter your unlocked room and steal your personal property. Diligent use of your keys does not make you paranoid. It makes you smart!
IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION THAT MAY BE USEFUL IN SOLVING THESE CRIMES, YOU ARE URGED TO CONTACT THE EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 581-3213 OR email@example.com.
