Panther Route (Point of Service)

M-F, 7:30 a.m. - 7:45 p.m.

13 stops approximately every 20-40 minutes
Lunch breaks: 12:50-1:20 p.m. & 5:30-6 p.m.

This route will provide point-to-point service to approved locations.
Stop times may vary.
Students may call 217-581-1105 during regular business hours (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) to request approved location.
Lunch break: 12-12:30 p.m.

2026-2027 Holiday Schedule:

(No routes on the following days)

Labor Day: Monday, September 7.
Thanksgiving Break: Regular service will end at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, and resume on Monday, Nov. 30.
Christmas Break: Regular service will end at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, and resume on Monday, Jan, 11, 2027.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, Jan. 18, 2027.
Lincoln's Birthday: Friday, Feb. 12, 2027.
Spring Break: March 15-19, 2027

Shuttle service will shut down for the summer from May 8, 2027, until Aug. 18, 2027.

Panther Express Policies

Customer Service contact number is 217-581-7572.
All passengers may be required to display their EIU ID (Panther Card).
Drivers maintain the right to deny entry or ask an individual to leave the bus.
No smoking, alcohol, pets or bikes allowed on the bus.
No weapons allowed on the bus.
EIU is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Bus schedule may vary in unforeseen conditions. Delays are possible during winter weather, heavy traffic, or if only 1 bus is operating the route.
Driver may not stop if no passengers are present at stops or if the bus is full.
The front door of the bus is the only exit.
The bus will stop at designated stops. Please do not ask the driver to stop at a location that is not designated.
The shuttle schedule will change on holidays and during academic breaks.

Mattoon Amtrak Depot Service

The Panther Shuttle will provide transportation to and from the Mattoon Amtrak Depot for Labor Day Fall Break Weekend, Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break and Spring Break.
Seats are limited!
To secure a seat, complete and submit the reservation form. Once confirmed, you will receive an email with your trip details.
Please note: Shuttle schedules depend on capacity, traffic, and weather conditions, and delays may occur. Service is only available to those with confirmed reservations.
